A 27 minute animated special episode, titled "Is Lupin Still Burning?!" will be included on the first volume of the Japanese Lupin "Part 5" home video release!

The special episode, which is a homage to the first episode of the 1971 green jacket series "Is Lupin Burning?!" will feature Easter eggs and cameos from various works of Lupin's past. Lupin himself dons his F1 racing outfit from the very first green jacket episode, but is seen racing around in his Fiat 500, made famous from the second TV series and the 1979 Hayao Miyazaki film "The Castle of Cagliostro".

The first volume of "Part 5" will release in Japan on the 25th of July, at 9,800 yen on Blu Ray and 8,000 yen on DVD. The release will include episodes 1 - 5, which covers the first story arc from the new series.

Volume 2 will release a month later, on the 22nd of August, and will include episodes 6 - 10. There will be five volumes in total, with releases leading up to the end of the year. The first release will also feature some special art cards, and additional features for later volumes are expected to be revealed as we get closer to the release dates.

Early adopters of the home video release will also receive a "Premium VR" movie experience. A cardboard headset and special PIN code (allowing you to download the episode on your mobile phone) will allow viewers to race along with Lupin and company in VR. The premium VR movie will be available via the Hakosco app until June 30th, 2019. Not every store will stock the VR set, so be sure to ask before you purchase!
