Yuji Ohno's soundtrack for the Japanese dub of the new blue jacket series has been previewed in the latest app update of popular mobile game Monster Strike!
The update comes as part of a special event, in which players can battle alongside Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko and Zenigata to hunt monsters!
In addition to the in-game event, Monster Strike have teamed up with TMS and have launched a viral marketing campaign, taking place in both the Twitter and real worlds. Players must locate several Lupin themed posters around Japan and Tweet their finds to unlock cool new stuff. This campaign ended last Thursday, on the 17th of September.
There are three of Ohno's tracks included in the latest update - a TV sized version of the 2015 "Theme of Lupin III", an eargasmic remaster of "SUPER HERO" and an instrumental variant of the 2015 main theme, with added Ohno flair!
You can hear the new version of "SUPER HERO" directly above, and the instrumental theme below. They're absolute corkers!
If these previews are anything to go by, Ohno and the Lupintic Five are set to impress when the blue jacket show makes its début on NTV in Japan on October 1st. You can read more information on the series' Japanese soundtrack, along with a full tracklist of the album release right here.
We are hoping the Italian soundtrack also receives a CD release at some point in the future, too. While it's certainly not on par with Ohno's work, the Italian crew did a fine job emulating the sweet sounds of Yuji Ohno, and mixing them with the likes of James Shimoji's smooth and suave "Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone" music style.
